The Defend

Dear Nikolai

It turns out my fears were right. We got surrounded by enemy tanks. If it weren't for our planes we would die. General said we'll have to stay there for another week, but I don't think they will attack again, not after the losses they suffered this week. So in other news we got 3 marks on the gun barrel, which is great. Jack found a bottle of whiskey in his tank, so it was great. I also found my joke book, so it was hilarious to listen those old jokes. Wow I don't really have much to write this week do I? Oh, I also found out Sam has a fiance, so we teased him a little.

Well that all, see you next time.

The Encounter

Dear Nikolai

Sorry this one is a bit late, but a lot has happened. We got on our first mission. Finally we got to shoot that 76.2 mm gun. So about the mission, we needed to go to small town and set a camp there. It was going great untill a wild VK 30.01 H appeared. Luckily, our churchill 1 was drawing his fire while we flanked him. 2 good shots was all it took. Rest of the way we keept our eyes wide open and Sam was great at calming us all down. Who would know a private could calm us down. We got to town safe and set a camp. Weird thing was there were no enemy troops. Jack in his M4 said they probably ran away when they saw us. But I have a bad feeling about this, because what if that VK reported our position and tell then where we were going.

Well that's all for now, I'll try not to be late with next one.

The Start

Dear Nikolai

I have finnaly arrived to boot camp. People there are pretty nice and I think this is going to be great.
I have met my new tank crew. Commader of my new tank Sherman Firefly is going to be Richtofen, quite a shy guy, but a good person. Next, we have radio-operator. In charge of that is Sam, who was really nervous because he was never outside him home town, but I think he'll fit in. Loader will be a guy named Bradley, strong guy, he can take care of himself. And finally we have driver named John, who has learned to drive german tanks, but they are similar. I can't wait to start shooting that 76.2 mm gun on Firefly. It's so good. I asked the general if we put put some paint on our tank, you know, to personalized it. I got a left side of a tank to paint, and I wrote believe in fireflies, Sam got a gun, and he said that for each tank we kill, we will draw a circle around gun barrel. Bradley wrote in big letters on top of the tank: "FREEDOM." John was little more modest, as he wrote: "Unite" on front of the tank. And finally, Richtofen wrote: "Search for light." Small, but cool.
Next week, we're going on our first mission together, I'll let you know how that works out.
Bye
Daniel
